Hey everybody! With a little bit of luck we should get the challenge started today. Just waiting on a few responses from notes we sent out, and getting all the flames for the teams ready to go. Please be patient...it doesn't sound like a huge job...but believe me, there is lots and lots to do on our end as far as preparations. ^cmptrwhz and I have been working our butts off behind the scenes! Just wanted to give you all a little update on what is going on. We are both excited and very anxious to get this Challenge underway! You guys are going to have a BLAST!!!!

There have been a few needed changes to the challenge, so please everyone familiarize yourself with them.

I know that everyone is wondering about the next challenge. So here are the rules we are going to follow. This is also your opportunity to work together as a team to get the challenge done....but I know nearly all of you, and I don't think you will have any issues with this. Make sure your name is listed under the correct program(s).

RR2 THE RESOURCES CHALLENGE RULES:

1. We are going to pair up the participants so you already have an assigned team member to share your parameters with. We decided to do this so everyone would have the same opportunity and no one will be left out!

2. Half of the Teams will receive one parameter, and the other half will receive a different parameter. After the challenge has begun, I will not permit anyone else to enter the challenge. They will need to sit this one out and take part in the next challenge.

3. There is going to be 2 stipulations in this challenge…

a). ANYTHING GOES….you can use any script, map, orbit, trap, plugin…etc Images submitted should be 1024 X 768. Incendia users can render their images at 1024 X 1024.

b). YOU MUST USE AS MANY RESOURCES AS POSSIBLE FOUND AT =Fractal-Resources
Ultra-Fractal users the =Ultra-Fractal has some awesome tutorial resources--->[link] to create your fractal. Resources for you are very, very limited, so please work with what you have.

Incendia users will have 2 options because of the limited variety of resource available for this relatively new program. You may get your resources at =Fractal-Resources or at ~IgnisIncendia

FE users may use gradients from Apophysis imported into your program. At this time, I do not have instructions on this, but will work on getting them for you. The resources for your program are very, very limited, so please work with what you have. *wolfepaw has figured out how to convert the spot parameter into text files to transmit through the DA note system for your challenge, so if you need assistance, please note her.

In the comments area when uploading your deviation, you will be expected to tell which resources were used and give the artist who created them proper credit for their use in addition to giving proper credit to the person whose flame, spot, or parameter you are using! THIS IS A MUST!

An EXAMPLE of what I am looking for under the deviation is as follows:

To make this fractal I also used the Spherical Loonie Foci Scripts by *parrotdolphin, the Mirrors.dll for Apophysis by *FracFx, and I used Gradient Pack 5
by =LadyBlacksword

I also used the Robin image in my deviation provided by =Rozrr

If it is not done in the comments portion of your deviation when you upload it, then you will find your deviation is not going to be included with the other images. This part will be non-negotiable!

3. You must make 2 fractals with the flame, spot, or parameter sent to you and then send the thumbs to me after uploading. Each member of your team will have the same parameters as you…so the possibilities are endless. I am asking that you send both thumbs to me at the same time. Please do not send me messages with (link) in the comments. I usually have several windows open at a time…and this is just irritating. Identify to me which program they are for. An example would be APO 3D Hack Team 1, or UF Team 3.
THIS STEP MUST BE COMPLETED FIRST!

(If you are on several teams, the same rule applies for each team you are on).

a. Once you have noted me your 2 :thumb:s for the parameter, spot, or flame you received, you may send those parameters onto someone else on your team to manipulate. You get to choose the who, and you keep up with the parameters, spots or flames you are sending amongst yourselves. I strongly suggest you find out if the other person you are sending your file to is already doing this step with another person on the team…because if they are, you should choose another person. You do not have to do this step, but it will be loads of fun if did.

6. Next, you and the person you are sharing with gets to submit to me what was created (up to 2 images each).


7. Keep watching my journal, and I may add an additional challenge if everyone does well with this one. I have a few other things up my sleeve….count on it!
